6/29/18 – This is an original WW2 production nazi Luftwaffe dagger (2nd variation). The dagger has a yellow bakelite handle with no cracks or chips. There’s a silver portepee attached to the handle in excellent near mint condition with no fraying. The blade is maker marked by SMF and in excellent condition. On the reverse side is a droop winged eagle/6 Luftwaffe proof stamp. Very interesting as most Luftwaffe daggers I’ve seen don’t have this proof. There’s some normal scabbard wear on the blade but no major issues or discolorations from patina. The scababrd is excellent with some minor discoloration but no dents. The hanger is excellent and original as well. Overall a very nice high end collectible Luft dagger.
