4/5/24 – This is an original WW2 Luftwaffe Dress Dagger by SMF. The dagger comes with an original scabbard, as shown. The biggest and most notable flaw on this example is the minor chip in the handle, at the top where the pommel meets the grip. There’s a larger chip that’s mostly on the front-facing side of the grip, and a smaller chip that’s more toward the backside of the grip (both at the top near the pommel). The rest of the grip is in great condition with a tightly wound chord. The hand guard and pommel show normal surface patina and aging wear, with the backside of the hand guard having light surface scratches and rub wear preset. The highlight of this dagger is the clean blade that’s both maker stamped by SMF, and Luftwaffe proof stamped on one side. Overall the blade is excellent, shiny, and clean with a small ding or dent along the edge being the only notable flaw. The scabbard shows light patina and browning discoloration throughout. No dents nor rust however. Priced according to condition.
