10/17/24 – This is an excellent WW2 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by WKC. The dagger features a minty condition blade, and comes complete with an original silver portepee and belt hangers. Most interesting on this example is how the hangers are army style, yet they’re sewn-on with non-synthetic (non-fluorescing) thread that’s aged and period correct. Although it’s hard to know why, the hanger is still in great condition with natural surface age clean threading on an olive green felt base. The scabbard is excellent with a zinc exterior and crisp features. Most excellent on this example is the blade; there’s minimal scabbard rub wear and beautiful cross-graining throughout. Crisp maker marking as well. A top-grade example. The portepee shows light age and mild fraying. The knot is somewhat loose but still completely intact. Excellent original handle with no cracks or chips, and a tightly wound silver wire chord. Overall an excellent and unique example.
