5/17/23 – This is an original, early WW2 production 1st model (variation) Luftwaffe dagger. The dagger comes complete with an original scabbard, chain hanger, and silver portepee. The dagger blade is shiny nickel plated steel and in excellent condition. Very clean overall with minimal surface wear, mostly being scabbard rub wear. Crisply marked by maker F.W. Holler on one side. The original leather stopper is intact and in great shape. The hand guard has surface patina and typical finish loss throughout, although some of the goldish-yellow finish remains. The blue leather handle is excellent with a tightly wrapped metal chord. The pommel has surface patina and finish loss, but no major issues. The portepee is excellent with a tight knot and some minor fraying along the rope. The scabbard has dark surface patina on the metal fixtures, but no major issues. The chain hanger is maker stamped by OLC. A near-excellent example.
