7/17/24 – This is an original, early WW2 production 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger. The dagger comes with an original chain hanger and silver portepee. This example is in great overall condition despite having some honest surface wear and age. The blade is fairly clean with a shiny nickel plated finish. There’s spotty surface oxidation and light patina throughout, as well as minor surface scratches and scabbard rub wear. No signs of sharpening or misuse along the edges. Maker stamped on one side of the blade, and original blue leather stopper present. The hand guard shows natural aging and dark patina tarnish, but none of this wear is textured. Light handling wear on the blue leather handle, and the wrapped wire chord is tight throughout. Natural patina on the pommel as shown. The scabbard is in near-excellent condition with some dark speckling patina on the steel fixtures, but the blue leather body is excellent. Aluminum chain hanger is in great shape and maker stamped by OLC on the clip. The portepee is excellent and tight with no fraying or notable damage.
