11/14/18 – This is an original early WW2 1st model Luftwaffe dagger. These fairly scarce daggers were soon replaced with the more common 2nd model Luft daggers with an eagle on the hand guard. This dagger has honest patina on the hand guard and metal ends of the scabbard. The discoloration is natural aging and gives the piece a nice aged look. The blade is not maker stamped, which deters some, but we guarantee the blade to be original and authentic. The blade has some light oxidation – a peppering towards the tip, and light scabbard scratching. There’s some minor wear and “chew” marks on the blue stretched leather handle, as well as light surface wear on the leather of the scabbard. Original chain and hanger is OLC maker stamped. Overall very nice collector’s piece at a great price!
