9/6/23 – This is a nice example of a Colt Detective Special revolver. According to the included Colt Factory Letter, it was delivered to the New York State Division of Parole on September 15, 1951. It is all matching and has retained roughly 65% of its original high polish finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the grip straps, but there is also some minor thinning on the barrel and an area of discoloration on the cylinder. The wood grips are mismatched but have a state building address stamped on the inside (see photo). Mint bore. Comes with a Galco soft leather holster.
