3/6/23 – This is a very nice example of a Winchester M1 Garand issued to the US military in about May of 1944. The barrel is a 1943-dated Springfield replacement. The stock is also a replacement and marked “RRA”, indicating this gun was reworked at the Raritan Arsenal. The metal parts have retained about 96-97% of their finish. There is general high edge wear and some light scuffs on the barrel and gas tube. Some light brown patina and minor discoloration on the receiver. The stock has no major damage, but there are minor dings and scuffs throughout. The color and finish of the handguards is different from the stock. There is what appears to be a faded rack number painted in white around the wrist. Comes with a canvas sling. Excellent bore with strong rifling. Muzzle reading: 2. Throat reading: 2.
