2/2/23 – This is an excellent example of a Smith-Corona Model 03-A3 rifle issued to the US military during WW2. The serial number on the receiver dates it to 1944. The barrel is S-C marked and dated July of 1943. The left side of the stock has a faint “FJA” inspection stamp and cross-canon military cartouche. The markings are hard to see, so we believe the stock has been sanded. Unfortunately, the stock broke at the wrist during shipping. It has been professionally restored and repaired and looks really nice (see photos). The finish on the metal parts appears to have been arsenal-refurbished. In any case, the gun is in excellent condition overall with just minor muzzle wear and wear on the barrel bands. Minty bore. Comes with a green canvas sling.
