11/17/22 – This is a very nice example of a Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1944. It is “United States Property” marked, has the correct “FJA” inspection stamp, and has the faintest remnants of a cross-canon military cartouche on the right side of the frame. There is an “RIA” marking on the right side of the frame as well, indicating this gun was reworked at the Rock Island Arsenal. There is an “EB” marking as well, the inspection marking of the RIA inspector Ernest Blind. Comes with a proper High Standard barrel. Overall, the gun is in very nice condition, but the condition of the slide and frame does not match. There is very minor wear around the muzzle and high edges of the slide. The whole slide is covered in obvious brown patina with some spotty oxidation here and there. Some tiny dots of oxidation on the front strap. Comes with excellent period-correct reddish plastic grips and one magazine. The bore is mint.
