12/19/22 – This is a nice example of a Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1944. It is “United States Property” marked, has the proper “FJA” inspection stamp, and has a faint cross-canon military cartouche on the right side of the frame. The slide and frame are slightly different colors, so we believe they have been mated. Period-correct High Standard barrel. The gun has retained about 90% of its original parkerized finish. There is wear around the muzzle, on the high edges of the slide, on the front edge of the frame, and on the grip straps. Light spotty oxidation on the whole frame. Fitted with a set of very nice period-correct reddish plastic grips – one small gouge on the right side. Comes with a reproduction magazine. The bore has good rifling with very minor frosting in the grooves.
