3/18/21 – This is an excellent example of a Quality Hardware M1 Carbine issued to the US military in 1944. All of the internal parts are correct for a Quality Hardware carbine. Underwood barrel dated 1944 is also correct. The handguard is Rockola marked – correct for this gun. It looks like the stock may be Inland marked. It’s hard to tell, but either way, we believe the stock was replaced and sanded. There is a faint cross-canon military cartouche on the right side and what looks like an antler marking on the wrist – could be some sort of restoration makers mark. The gun has a lot of early features such as the early barrel band, detachable spring housing, “S” marked flip-up sight, and push button safety. Please see the list of parts and their markings below. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition. The metal parts have retained virtually all of their finish with tiny dots of oxidation here and there. Unfortunately, it looks like someone scratched their name into the receiver. Excellent stock. Near-mint bore. Comes with a WW2 magazine.
