5/14/24 – This is an original 1944 dated soft-shell style P.38 holster from WW2. The holster is in very good overall condition and features a one-piece construction. This is fairly uncommon and an interesting design change – notice the lack of stitching above the belt loops on the backside of the holster. This is a late-war feature to increase production efficiency. The leather is soft and pliable with signs of previous use. There’s wrinkling and scuffing throughout, as well as surface cracking on the top leather. The stitching is tight and all original throughout. The interior leather has some writing that has been blacked-out, and the back leather is maker stamped, dated, and P.38 stamped.
