6/2/23 – This is a very nice example of a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It is all matching and has the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs. It comes as a rig with a worn soft shell holster, one scarce late-war “U” marked Mauser magazine, and one “Eagle 359” marked Walther magazine. The belt loops on the holster appear to have been re-stitched, and a second hole was added to the closure strap. The gun itself has retained about 93% of its original finish. Almost all of the finish loss is on the front strap, so the profile views are minty. There are a couple of tiny dings on the left side of the barrel in the ejection port. A light scratch on the left side of the frame. Fitted with excellent period-correct reddish bakelite grips. Stone-mint bore. De-cocker is functional.
