6/13/23 – This is a nice example of a Mauser K98 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. Most of the gun is matching, but the bolt, bolt release, and floor plate are mismatched. The waffen proofs on the receiver have been defaced. Import mark on the barrel. The metal parts have been re-blued. There is general high edge wear, thinning on the floor plate, and minor pitting around the muzzle. The wood furniture shows obvious signs of use throughout. There is noticeable gouging in the stock just in front of the rear barrel band and the initials “MNDAP” scratched into the underside of the stock. The bore is very nice with good rifling.
