1/16/23 – This is a U.S. Army issued and inspected Colt 1911A1 from 1944 that was sent to Britain as part of the lend-lease program. It has the proper U.S. military inspectors marks, and British proofs are visible on the right rear of the frame and slide, as well as the barrel. Proper Colt barrel with a “G” under the lug. It has retained about 93-94% of its parkerized finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the front strap, where there is also some spotty oxidation and a few small dings. One tiny spot of discoloration on the left side of the slide. Fitted with very nice period-correct reddish bakelite grips and comes with one magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is light spotty oxidation throughout.
