8/17/22 – This is an original 1944 dated M1916 holster for the M1911A1 pistol. The holster is maker stamped and dated on the back leather as shown. The front leather has a faint “US” stamp, but this is mostly risen out of the leather with time and aging. There are two small pin holes in the front leather as well, likely from a previous embellishment. The exterior leather has wrinkling and signs of previous use, but no excessive wear. Normal pliability and no stitching issues. Comes attached to a canvas USGI belt. The belt is “US” stamped in ink on the front, but this is mostly faded and hard to see. The interior of the belt has some writing from a previous owner. See photos.
