1/26/22 – This is a very nice example of a Waffenwerke-Brunn K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1943. The gun is entirely matching except for the bolt, which is mismatched. There are waffen military acceptance proofs throughout. The receiver is dated 1943 and has the proper “dot” Waffenwerke-Brunn factory code. The stock is not numbered or waffen-proofed, but there is a “dot” factory code on the underside of the butt stock. Overall, the gun is in very nice condition. However, there is spotty wear and splotchy discoloration covering the whole barrel and on the floor plate/trigger group. Some areas with pin-pricking on the barrel bands. Minor wear on the high edges of the receiver. The stock is excellent with very minor handling marks and scratches here and there. The butt plate may have been replaced. The bore is excellent with strong rifling.
