6/8/22 – This is a Turkish Mauser Model 1938 assembled at the Ankara Arsenal in 1943. The gun is mostly matching, but the bolt is mismatched. No import marks. There is some minor thinning and splotchy discoloration on the receiver. Thinning on the rear barrel band. Minor pitting and oxidation on the floor plate. While there isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, there is heavy brown patina on all of the metal parts. Nice wood stock with only minor dings and bruises throughout. The bore has noticeable oxidation and pitting throughout.
