3/17/23 – This is an excellent example of a Springfield M1 Garand. The serial number on the receiver dates it to about February of 1943. The barrel is Springfield marked and dated April of 1945. The stock is “P” proofed, has a cross-canon cartouche, and has the proper Springfield inspector stamp. All the internal parts are Springfield. There is very little actual finish. A couple of light scratches along the barrel and light scratchy wear on the trigger guard. Areas of pin-pricking here and there on the receiver. The stock is excellent, but the handguards show more obvious signs of bruising and small gouges. Excellent bore with strong rifling. Muzzle reading: 3. Throat reading: 3.
