12/30/22 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand. The receiver dates to about July of 1943. Springfield barrel dated June of 1947. The stock has no proofs, but there is a painted “6” on the wrist. The metal parts have retained roughly 85-90% of their finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the barrel and gas tube, but there is also minor high edge wear in general. No major damage to the stock, but there are small dings and bruises throughout. The handguards are in better condition than the stock. The bore has good rifling, but there is minor pin-pricking in the grooves. Muzzle reading: 3. Throat reading: 2.
