11/3/23 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand. The serial number on the receiver dates to about October of 1943. The barrel is Springfield marked and dated December of 1943. The stock is a DOD-marked replacement. The finish on the metal parts rates about 95% with just minor muzzle wear. Obvious spotty oxidation on the butt plate. The stock shows minor bruising and dings throughout. The color of the stock and handguards do not match. The bore has great rifling with light pin-pricking in the grooves. Muzzle reading: 3. Throat reading: 2.
