7/17/24 – This is a 1943 production soft-shell style P.38 holster from WW2. The holster is transitional in that the Germans switched from hard-shell to soft-shell style in 1943 due to time and supply constraints. This holster is in great overall condition with all original leather and stitching. The leather has some surface scratches and wrinkling on the front leather. Normal pliability and a distinct outline of a P.38 frame visible on the back leather (from having held a P.38 for some time, what we consider “honest wear”). The leather has a scuffed area on the back as well, shown in photos. The back leather is stamped with a maker code, date, waffen proof, and P.38 designation. The interior leather shows some scuffs and wear but no major issues.
