4/18/23 – This is a Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in early 1943. It is “United States Property” marked, has the proper “FJA” inspection stamp, and has a cross-cannon military cartouche on the right side of the frame. Proper High Standard barrel. The gun has retained roughly 85% of its original parkerized finish. There is thinning on the front strap, but the most obvious sign of wear is spotty discoloration and oxidation on most of the gun. There is a tiny ding in frame where it meets the slide on the left side. Fitted with correct reddish plastic grips. Comes with a period-correct “S” marked magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is minor pitting around the muzzle end.
