7/12/23 – This is a very nice example of a Remington Model 03-A3 rifle issued to the US military in November of 1943. The muzzle area is marked Remington and is dated September of 1943, along with the flaming bomb ordnance stamp. There is a “RIA EB” stamp on the left side of the stock, indicating the gun was re-worked at the Rock Island Arsenal. There is also a double stamp “P” proof on the grip area and the proper military inspection stamp “RA FJA” and cross-canon cartouche on the left of the stock. Overall, the gun is in very nice condition, with honest use wear on the stock. No cracks or significant chips in the wood. There isn’t much actual finish loss except for minor edge wear. We rate around 90-95% overall condition. The bore is very clean with great rifling. The serial number is pencil etched on the top part of the bolt and additional numbers etched on the back side of the bolt handle.
