5/11/23 – This is a nice example of a “CE Code” JP Sauer K98 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. The gun is all matching except for the bolt, which is mismatched. Proper waffen military proofs throughout. The metal parts have lost nearly all of their finish with obvious splotchy discoloration and brown patina throughout. The patina is heaviest on the front portion of the barrel, on the barrel bands, and on the floor plate / trigger group. The wood furniture has no major damage, but there are obvious signs of use throughout. It has a correct “Eagle H” marking on the right side of the butt stock. Surprisingly enough, the bore is mint.
