7/6/23 – This is a nice example of an “AR” Code K98 rifle manufactured in the Mauser (Borgiswalde) factory in 1943. This one is an arsenal refurbished example. Most of the parts are matching, but many have been re-numbered with electro-pencil. Import mark on the barrel. This particular gun is interesting because it has a rail for a sniper scope on the left side of the rear sight. The metal parts have retained most of their arsenal-refurbished bluing, but there is noticeable splotchy discoloration on the receiver. No major damage to the wood furniture, just minor bruising and scratching. Comes with a period-correct leather sling. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout.
