12/27/22 – This is a nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand. The receiver dates to about June of 1942. The barrel is a Danish replacement dated February of 1957. The stock is “P” proofed and has a small cross-canon cartouche on the grip. The gun has lost the majority of its finish with obvious thinning throughout. The stock shows signs of use with obvious dings and bruising throughout. A hairline crack in the front handguard. The front handguard also wiggles a little bit. Very nice bore with good rifling and very minor pin-pricking in the grooves. Comes with a green canvas sling. Muzzle reading: 5. Throat reading: 2.
