6/16/17 – This is an original 1942 dated P.38 holster. The holster has soft and pliable leather that is somewhat more pliable than most holsters. The leather still holds its’ shape nicely though and has no major flaws. The leather closure strap is excellent, but the stitching is black on the exterior, so this tells me there might have been dye used on the leather at some point in that area. The stitching is still original and authentic – overall there are no stitching flaws. The interior leather has some writing throughout the interior lid. The back leather has nice stamps for “joa” maker, 1942 date, and waffen eagle WaA706. Guaranteed original.
