4/17/20 – This is an original 1942 dated P.38 holster from WW2. The holster appears to have a field repair, or period repair on the back belt loops. We’re calling this a field repair because the straps are different in color and look like scrap leather. Most collector repairs are made to look just like the original, and would look cleaner than this. These straps are worn, and the stitching looks original. The leather otherwise is very nice, with some light exterior surface scuffing and normal pliability. The stitching is all tight and original. The back leather has a waffen proof, maker stamp and date. The maker stamp appears to be cyo, but the “c” isn’t visible (uneven stamp).
