9/24/24 – This is an original 1942 dated, well marked and waffen proofed holster. The holster is for a Mauser M1934 or Model HSC, as indicated by the faint interior “Mauser 7,65” ink stamp. The holster is also stamped with a maker and date code, “jhg 42” by Gustav Genschow & Co. located under the closure strap. The top of the closure strap shows a crisp military waffen proof stamp, WaA286. The leather is in great condition with normal pliability and natural use wear. There’s wrinkling around the top exterior leather, as well as on the closure strap but this is surface wear; no cracking or deep leather wear. The original black dye is faded slightly on the back leather, and runoff from the dye is found on the interior side flap and interior top leather, as shown in photos. All the stitching is tight and original. Great, all-original example with excellent markings.
