12/31/20 – This is a nice example of a Colt M1911A1 issued to the US Military in 1942. It is all matching (including the slide, which is numbered) and has the proper “US Property” marking. It has a Colt barrel with a large “G” under the barrel lug (correct). It has retained about 92-94% of its finish. There is thinning on the straps and wear around the muzzle and high edges in general. While there isn’t much actual finish loss, there is spotty oxidation throughout, most visible on the front strap. There are areas of tiny pits on the top and right side of the slide. There is an area of discoloration on the front strap. Comes with excellent grips and a period-correct magazine. The mag bottom is unmarked. Possible it was replaced at some point. The rifling in the bore is a little worn and there is pin-pricking throughout.
