5/26/23 – This is a very nice example of a Colt Commando revolver, manufactured in 1942. It is all matching, and according to the included Colt Factory letter, it was delivered to an Andrew Charles at a City-County building in the Pittsburgh, PA on December 22, 1942. There is a small military flaming bomb proof on the left side of the frame. Since the gun was not initially delivered to the military, this marking was presumably added later. The gun itself has retained about 90% of its original parkerized finish with areas of wear and very light spotty oxidation around the muzzle, on the top strap, and on the high edges of the cylinder. There are several deep cut marks in the metal on the front strap. They appear to be intentional. The gun is fitted with excellent brown/black marbled plastic grips. Comes with an extra set of wood grips – they are numbered but do not match the gun. Near-mint bore.
