10/5/23 – This is a 1942 production Colt Commando Revolver. The revolver has an excellent, original parkerized finish which we rate at about 92+% condition. There’s some light muzzle wear, edge wear around the trigger guard, cylinder, and top frame, as well as finish loss and dark surface patina on the front and back strap. Interestingly, the front strap has a diagonal cut towards the butt/base of the handle. We don’t know the significance of this “frame cut”, but we can tell that the finish on this cut area matches the finish on the rest of the revolver, and there’s surface patina in this area as well. This tell us that the revolver left the factory this way, making this an oddball collectible example. Comes with excellent reddish brown and black swirled plastic grips, and a minty bore. Smooth function and tight lockup.
