11/11/21 – This is an all matching Nazi Walther P.38 from March of 1941, including one of the original matching magazines. There’s minor bluing loss around the muzzle and front edges of the slide, and some patina/thinning on the front grip strap. Unfortunately, the upper (slide and barrel) have been re-blued on this one, though the frame appears to be original bluing. It’s a first variation example that should have the high-polish blue shown in the photos, but internal parts are blued and the firing pin cover is polished. It’s nicely done re-bluing work, and the pistol looks very nice overall. The grips are E/359 proofed but not serialized. All small parts correctly have the E/359 marking, as well. Minty bore, hardly looks fired. Fully functional, including the de-cocker.
