11/18/22 – This is a very nice example of a Springfield Armory M1 Garand from 1941 that was sent to England as part of the lend-lease program. Correct Springfield parts throughout, including the SA barrel which is dated November of 1941, the same month the receiver was made. Small British proofs on the barrel. The stock is “SA GAW” marked and cross-canon proofed. We believe this is an original WW2 stock, but is a little late for this gun. The gun is in very nice condition overall. The majority of the finish loss is on the gas tube. There is a small chip on the underside of the stock just in front of the floor plate. Other than that, there is no major damage, just dings and bruises throughout, most noticeable on the left side of the butt stock and around the right side of the receiver. Excellent bore with strong rifling. Throat reading: 0. Muzzle reading: 1.
