1/25/23 – This is a nice example of a Lithgow SMLE III Enfield rifle issued to the Australian military in 1941. The bolt is mismatched to the receiver, but the rear sight and front barrel band are matching. The underside of the stock is numbered just behind the front barrel band, but it does not match the receiver. Several parts are marked “BA” and “OA”. Small import mark on the right side of the receiver. Generally, there is wear around the high edges and some scratchy wear around the muzzle and front barrel band. The wood stock is in fair condition with dings and bruises throughout. The bore is shiny with strong rifling and a couple of small spots of light oxidation.
