8/14/23 – This is a very nice example of a Mauser Luger issued to the Kriegsmarine in 1940. It is all matching, has the proper “Eagle 655” military acceptance proofs, and has an “N 4950” Navy property marking on the back strap. It also comes with a mismatched but period-correct Navy-marked magazine. The gun itself has retained roughly 85% of its original finish. There are areas of wear around the muzzle, on the side plate, and on the high edges in general. Spotty wear on both grip straps. Areas of splotchy discoloration on the underside of the barrel and towards the top of the back strap. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered and “Eagle 655” proofed wood grips. The bore has good rifling, but there is minor frosting throughout.
