7/22/22 – This is a nice example of a Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1940. It is all matching, has the proper “42” Mauser factory code on the toggle, and has “Eagle 655” military acceptance proofs. There is an asterisk marking on the left side of the barrel, indicating it failed initial inspection and was sent back to the factory for repair. The gun has retained roughly 75% of its original bluing. There is wear on the side plate, along the side rails, around the muzzle, and along the barrel. Noticeable thinning on both grip straps and some light scratching on the front strap. Areas of small dots of oxidation and tiny pits around the muzzle, right side of the gun, and on both grip straps. Comes with un-numbered “Eagle 655” proofed wood grips and a mismatched “Eagle 83” proofed magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there are tiny pits throughout.
