10/15/20 – This is an excellent example of a J.P. Sauer K98 Bolt Action Rifle, issued to the Nazi military in 1939. What makes this gun unique is the stock – it is mismatched to the gun but has a rare “Eagle L” Luftwaffe proof on it in addition to its other waffen proofs. Except for the stock, the gun is all matching and has the proper Nazi military acceptance proofs It has a “147” factory code on the receiver. It also comes with a scarcely-seen front sight cover. Most of these were taken off and thrown away. The gun has retained most of its bluing. There is minor muzzle wear, a few dings on the barrel and barrel band, and some minor spotty thinning on top of the receiver. There are some scratches and dings on the floor plate and trigger assembly. The stock is excellent with crisp markings. The bore is excellent – shiny with strong rifling.
