10/26/23 – This is an original 1939 dated K98 bayonet. The bayonet is in excellent condition, and comes with a rare, desirable canvas frog. These were often found with / issued to the DAK. Unfortunately, the scabbard that’s included is not an original K98 scabbard, but instead some kind of European manufacture of similar composition. The scabbard is in great condition with mild patina and a “S” stamped near the mouth. The blade fits nicely inside the scabbard. The blade has minimal surface wear and some minor imperfections along the edge from previous use. Nice markings on the ricasso: serial number on one side, and manufacturer on the other. The hand guard and pommel have light patina throughout. Excellent grips.
