KW100324-3

10/8/24 – This is an original 1939 dated inert M24 Stielhandgranate or “stick grenade” from WW2 Germany. The grenade comes as-shown with no internals included. The metal base properly unscrews and can be removed, revealing natural patina and surface rust on the interior cap and metal threading. The wood handle has a few light surface bruises and imperfections, but no major cracks or chips. We found no distinctly visible markings on the wood, but there is a faint, small number stamp of some kind that we cannot decipher (see last photo). The top of the “potato masher” grenade has traces of olive green paint found, but is mostly worn off with the steel and dark spotty patina showing prominently. The top is maker and date stamped by Richard Rinker. All original retaining screws are still intact.
