7/11/19 – This is an original leather strap for a K98 rifle manufactured just prior to the start of WWII. The strap is maker stamped “Leo Schmidt ” and 1938 on the rear of the keeper stud. The leather is soft but completely in tact with no notable flaws. Some of the original herringbone texture is still visible on the exterior, but it is mostly smooth. The stitching is all original as well without issues. Guaranteed original.
