6/18/24 – This is an original 1938 dated K98 bayonet with an original matching numbered scabbard. The bayonet also comes with a leather frog that’s dyed black on the front leather, and maker stamped at the base of the reverse with a 1937 date. The bayonet blade is excellent with most of the original bluing intact. Some light scabbard rub wear and small areas of finish loss near the tip. The edge is clean and unsharpened. Maker stamped and serial numbered on the base of the blade, with a “38” date on the spine. Properly waffen proofed on the pommel as shown. Minimal patina throughout the hilt (hand guard and pommel area). The scabbard has one small dent on the backside but is great condition overall with natural patina mixed throughout the original finish. Overall an excellent, complete example.
