11/18/22 – This is a nice example of a “42 Code” Mauser K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1938. The gun is entirely mismatched, but it does have waffen military acceptance proofs throughout. French star marking on the butt plate. The stock is marked “MK-2”, which we understand to be some kind of post-war arsenal rework marking. The metal parts appear to have an arsenal refurbished finish. There is not much finish loss except for some minor wear on some of the high edges and some wear on the bolt handle. A couple of tiny dings on the receiver and barrel. There is no major damage to the wood stock, but there are obvious dings, dents, and bruises throughout. The bore is shiny with great rifling, but there are a couple of small areas of pitting. Comes with cleaning rod. No import marks.
