2/7/23 – This is an excellent example of a 1920-dated DWM Luger that was likely reworked and issued to the German police force during the Weimar Era. It is all matching (except for the firing pin) and has Weimar-era police proofs on the right side of the slide. It has an added police sear safety and the left grip was cutout for a magazine safety (not present). There is what looks like could be the faint remnants of a police unit marking on the front strap. We can just barely see it under magnification. The gun has retained about 97% of its bluing with just very minor wear around the muzzle and some of the high edges. Some handling marks on the front strap and some dulling on the back strap. An area of discoloration around the safety lever. The gun comes with two matching-numbered police magazines – we think one is original but are unsure about the second. Fitted with very nice u-numbered wood grips. The bore has good rifling with very minor frosting throughout.
