Trench Knife
1918

11/22/24 – This is a good example of a WW1 production US Trench Fighting Knife by LF&C. The knife comes with an original scabbard, as shown. The knife blade is in good shape for its age. The blade was sharpened at some point in this knife’s past and as a result the tip has been rounded. The handle on this knife remains in great condition and has the proper patina to the brass grips that is expected in a knife of this age. The points on the knuckles remain and are still sharp. The handle’s makers mark remains very strong and is easily visible, ” U. S. L.F & C – 1918″. This knife comes with it’s scabbard that is also in good shape. The scabbard is missing it’s original mounting hardware and is still visibly stamped, “L.F. & C. 1918”. Interestingly the “Skull Crusher” on this example has a WW1 era French coin under the point. This blade comes with documentation from the previous owner that identifies that this knife was owned by a Lt. Col. Paul A. Vannordstrand, the previous owners father. This knife additionally comes with a copy of Lt. Col. Vannordstrand’s service record during WW2 as well as a copy of a local newspaper with an article about him.
