3/13/23 – This is a 1918 production Italian Bodeo M1889 Antique Revolver. These revolvers were used during WW1 and beyond, through WW2 by the Italian Army and Officers. This example was made at the end of WW1 and shows honest use and aging wear throughout. There’s dark surface patina and finish loss throughout this revolver. The right side shows a small area of pitting just below the unit stamp and “RE” Italian proof stamp. More pitting is found near the grips along the front strap, and in small areas of the cylinder. The wood grips are original and in great shape with no cracks or chips. Mechanically sound with good lockup and timing. The bore is surprisingly nice with strong rifling and some mild patina throughout, but no rust or pitting. Overall this is a mechanically nice piece with honest wear and aging throughout.
