2/16/23 – This is an original 1918 production DWM Luger with excellent, all original finish that rates about 95% overall. The front and back straps are minty, especially considering the gun’s age. However there is finish loss on the left side near the sideplate, on the edges and high points, and on the frame near the safety lever and corresponding “ear” on the right side. The strawed small parts also have finish loss, but this is typical. The parts are all matching numbered except for the rear toggle pin and barrel. Interestingly, the barrel is PTV stamped, which is an abbreviation for a Police School of Traffic & Technology in Berlin during the 1930s. The barrel has “33” date stamps under other proof markings as well, which helps verify this information. This Luger was therefore re-issued to the police after WW1, where it received a replacement barrel, added sear safety, and police proofed magazine. The magazine included is the original matching numbered police proofed magazine, as shown. Mechanically sound with an excellent bore. Comes with unmarked wood grips that are in great condition.
