11/8/22 – This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US military in 1918. It is “United States Property” marked and has the proper “Eagle Head S8” military acceptance proof. Proper “H P” Colt barrel. It comes as a rig with one period-correct two-tone magazine and a nice 1917-dated holster (leather lanyard intact). The gun itself has retained roughly 85% of its original Colt bluing. There is muzzle wear and minor wear around the high edges in general. Most of the finish loss comes in the form of light spotty discoloration along all sides of the slide. Thinning and light brown patina on both grip straps. Comes with excellent period-correct wood grips. The bore has good rifling with very minor pin-pricking throughout.
